PRESS RELEASE
UTtair Aviation selects Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland for CFM56-3 engine maintenance support.
At the Farnboro Air Show in July, LTAI announced a five year agreement for CFM56-3 engine management and maintenance support with UTair Aviation, Russia’s largest B737 operator. The agreement covers all of the CFM56-3B1 and CFM56-3C1 engines powering UTair’s sixteen B737-500 and six B737-400 aircraft.
The support agreement not only covers scheduled and unscheduled shop visit management, but also provides UTair with additional services such as engine changes at any one of the nine Lufthansa Technik (LHT) facilities in both Eastern and Western Europe, and lease engine support from LTAI’s pool of spare CFM56-3 lease engines.
In addition UTair will have access to LHT’s Airline Support Team to perform engine maintenance at locations within UTair’s growing network. The deal is estimated to be valued at over US$80m for the duration of the contract.
